Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leader B Mahesh Kumar Goud demanded on Tuesday, August 18 that the Election Commission eliminate the requirement for voters to link themselves to the electoral rolls from 2002. He expressed concern that 92 million voters in the state were receiving notices during the continuous SIR.

As many as 73 million names are missing from Telangana’s review electoral rolls due to be released on August 17, while another 92 million electors will receive notices over irregularities or failure to establish a connection with the rolls from 2002 during the ongoing SIR.
