According to the information available, the sisters had gone to the Saryu river near the Ram Janki temple in Bhauriganj to feed fish. They were standing on the steps along the riverbank and feeding the fish when Suhani allegedly slipped and fell into the river.

Seeing her younger sister drowning, Supriya entered the river in an attempt to rescue her. However, she too was swept into the water and drowned.

The incident caused a commotion, and local residents rushed to the spot. By the time villagers entered the river to search for the sisters, both had already drowned.

After a search, villagers recovered the bodies and took them to the Paraspur Primary Health Centre, where doctors declared both sisters dead.

Additional Superintendent of Police Radheshyam Rai confirmed that the bodies had been recovered. He said the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination after completion of the necessary formalities.

Police said further legal proceedings are underway.
