A 30-year-old man in Gurugram allegedly died by suicide after killing his wife, with an email to his employer stating, “We are leaving this world.” Their bodies were found in their rented apartment in the M3M Marina residential society on Wednesday, which was also the woman’s birthday.
Mohammad Aslam, 30, and his wife Farhana, both of whom were techies, hailed from Kerala and had moved to Gurugram from Bengaluru around three months ago.

A note recovered from their residence also bore the message, “We are leaving this world.” While Aslam’s body was found hanging, Farhana was lying on the floor lifeless with injuries on her neck.
The words “I love you” were found handwritten on her clothes. The bodies were discovered by the couple’s landlord, who was alerted by Aslam’s colleagues.
The apartment door was reportedly found open when the landlord arrived there.
Police seized three laptops, two mobile phones, a rope, a diary, a pair of scissors and a pen drive from the scene.
The items have been sent for forensic examination as investigators piece together the sequence of events leading to the couple’s deaths.
Based on the preliminary findings, police suspect that Aslam killed Farhana before taking his own life. A murder case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to family members, the couple shared a close bond, and no marital discord had come to light. However, Aslam had been undergoing treatment for depression for around one-and-a-half years.
Their relatives have suggested that excessive work pressure may have contributed to the incident.
The exact circumstances surrounding the deaths, however, remain under investigation, and police are examining the available evidence.
Aslam was an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut, and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore. Farhana was also employed with an IT firm and worked from home.
