Xiaomi is no longer a smartphone company that buys chips from others. Now the Chinese brand has unveiled three new in-house chipsets that are designed to power different parts of its technology ecosystem. And its flagship Xring O3 is already making headlines for one big reason: it has crossed the 5-million mark on AnTuTu.
The Xring O3, along with the AI-focused Xring O100 and the intelligent-driving Xring D100, marks another step in Xiaomi’s push to build more of its own technology. Among the three, the Xring O3 is the one aimed at smartphones and other high-performance devices, and Xiaomi claims it brings a major jump in both performance and efficiency.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xring O3 will make its debut on the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Pad 9 Pro Max launching in September.
Xring O3 crosses the 5-million mark on AnTuTu
The Xring O3 is built using a 3nm process and features a 10-core CPU. Xiaomi says the CPU delivers up to a 60 per cent improvement in performance. But the bigger headline comes from the GPU.
The chipset uses a 16-core G2-Ultra NX GPU, which Xiaomi claims can deliver up to 85 per cent higher graphics performance while improving power efficiency by 64 per cent. In other words, the company is not just chasing higher benchmark numbers, but also trying to make the chip more efficient while doing demanding tasks such as gaming.
And then there is AnTuTu. Xiaomi says the Xring O3 scored 5.22 million points, making it the first mobile SoC to cross the 5-million mark on the benchmark. Benchmark numbers do not always tell the whole story about how a phone will perform in the real world, but crossing a milestone like this is still a significant achievement for Xiaomi’s chip business.
The Xring O3 also brings LPDDR6 memory support, making it Xiaomi’s first mobile chipset to support the newer memory standard. Xiaomi says the chip can deliver memory bandwidth of up to 113.8GB/s.
AI is another major focus. The chipset offers up to 200 TOPS of tensor performance and 3.13 TFLOPS of vector performance, while NPU performance has increased by 45 per cent. Xiaomi says AI acceleration is spread across different parts of the chip, including the CPU, GPU, ISP, DPU and ADSP.
There is also a focus on reducing latency, with Xiaomi claiming a static latency figure of 82ns. The company says it took 459 days to develop the Xring O3.
Xiaomi is building more than just a smartphone chip
The Xring O3 may be the star of the show, but Xiaomi has also introduced two other chipsets as part of a broader push into in-house silicon.
The Xring O100 is designed with AI workloads in mind, while the Xring D100 is aimed at intelligent-driving applications. This means Xiaomi is looking beyond the smartphone and trying to develop chips that can serve different parts of its growing hardware ecosystem.
For Xiaomi, this is important because having its own chips gives the company greater control over how its hardware and software work together. It also reduces some of its dependence on third-party chipmakers and gives it more room to optimise devices for specific workloads.
The Xring O3, however, is the clearest sign yet of where Xiaomi wants to compete. With a 3nm design, a new GPU, LPDDR6 support and a claimed 5.22-million AnTuTu score, Xiaomi is putting its own silicon much closer to the centre of its high-end hardware strategy.
